Clinical Supervision in ACT and FACT

Clinical supervision serves as an important high leverage intervention for mental health professionals providing intensive mental health services on Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) and Forensic Assertive Community Treatment (FACT) teams. The quality of clinical supervision has a profound impact on clinician burnout, job satisfaction, and competence, which can in turn impact client outcomes. This training will introduce the core components of clinical supervision on ACT and FACT teams and discuss practices that support the formative and restorative functions of supervision. The training will discuss common barriers to effective clinical supervision in community mental health settings, as well as supervision approaches that can support positive team functioning on ACT and FACT teams. Finally, as the ACT and FACT service delivery models involve multidisciplinary teams of mental health professionals, the training will discuss effective approaches to clinical supervision when a supervisor and supervisee have different disciplinary backgrounds.
