Who is a Good Fit for ACT and FACT? Identifying the Population of Focus

County Behavioral Health, County Leadership

Training

Date

May 18 @ 1:00 pm - May 26 @ 2:30 pm

Summary

This training will introduce assertive outreach and engagement practices as cornerstones of recovery-oriented, evidence-based mental health service delivery as well as present evidence-based strategies (e.g., motivational interviewing) that ACT and FACT providers can use to foster intrinsic motivation and assist clients in pursuing self-identified recovery goals.

Focus:

This training will review clinical characteristics of the population optimally served by Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) and Forensic ACT (FACT) and prepare providers to effectively identify individuals who are likely to benefit from these services as well as discuss anosognosia and treatment-refractory psychotic spectrum disorders, common clinical presentations within the ACT and FACT population of focus that are associated with a lack of insight into service needs.
